About the Role

The National Association for Athletes' Mental Health (NAAMH) is dedicated to advocating for and supporting the mental well-being of athletes at all levels. We are seeking a proactive and skilled Volunteer Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in identifying, recruiting, and onboarding top talent to support our mission and operations.

As a Volunteer Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will leverage your expertise in recruitment and talent management to attract and hire individuals who are passionate about mental health advocacy and capable of contributing to our organization’s success. Your ability to develop effective recruitment strategies, manage the hiring process, and foster a positive candidate experience will be crucial in building a strong and dedicated team.

Job Function
Recruitment Strategy: Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for various roles within NAAMH.
Job Posting: Create compelling job descriptions and post openings on relevant job boards, social media platforms, and other channels to reach potential candidates.
Candidate Sourcing: Utilize various sourcing methods, including social media, networking events, and recruitment databases, to identify and engage potential candidates.
Screening: Review resumes, conduct initial screenings, and assess candidates’ qualifications and fit for NAAMH’s needs and culture.
Interviewing: Coordinate and conduct interviews, providing a positive and professional experience for candidates throughout the process.
Onboarding: Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles and integration into the organization.
Talent Pipeline: Build and maintain a talent pipeline to proactively address future staffing needs and support organizational growth.
Collaboration: Work closely with department heads and other stakeholders to understand staffing requirements and align recruitment efforts with organizational goals.
Metrics and Reporting: Track and report on recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and candidate satisfaction, to evaluate and improve recruitment processes.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or human resources, preferably within the non-profit sector.

  • Recruitment Skills: Proven experience in developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies and managing the full recruitment cycle.

  • Sourcing Techniques: Strong knowledge of sourcing methods and tools, including social media and recruitment databases.

  • Interviewing Skills: Excellent interviewing skills, with the ability to assess candidates’ skills, experience, and cultural fit.

  • Onboarding Experience: Experience in managing the onboarding process and ensuring a positive experience for new hires.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and persuade candidates and collaborate with team members.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple recruitment efforts simultaneously.

  • Passion: A genuine passion for mental health advocacy and a commitment to supporting athletes’ mental well-being.

  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruitment software, and Microsoft Office.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
